iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max boast a more repair-friendly design with removable rear glass

During this week's event, Apple announced that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have been internally redesigned for easier repair, with a frame redesigned to allow easy removal of the rear glass from the device.

Apple applied this change to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus last year, making them the first iPhones that can officially be opened from both the front and back of the device for repairs since the iPhone 4S debuted in 2011.

Removable rear glass may potentially significantly reduce repair costs for models with cracked glass if users do not purchase AppleCare+ insurance. It is known that Apple charged between $169 and $169 to replace the back glass of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Meanwhile, models without this design applied have repair costs ranging from $499 to $549. Apple has not yet disclosed repair fees for the series on its website.

Kyle Wiens, founder of iFixit, shared: 'Apple has completely redesigned the internal components of the iPhone 14, making the device easier to repair. While not visible to the naked eye, this is the biggest and most important change to the iPhone design in many years.'
