- Rear Camera: 48 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP.
- Selfie Camera: 12 MP.
- Battery Capacity: Approximately 3,274 mAh.
- Operating System: iOS 17.2.1 (latest version at the time of writing).

As observed earlier, the iPhone 15 Pro derives its performance from the formidable Apple A17 Pro chip by Apple. The prowess of this chip has been meticulously described in the iPhone 15 Pro performance review, demonstrating its seamless responsiveness to users' varying needs without encountering any difficulties. However, the drawback of this processor in the iPhone 15 Pro is its tendency to heat up, causing a bit of discomfort during usage.

The temperature issue of the iPhone 15 Pro also somewhat affects its battery life. So, how does the specific battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro fare? The section below will provide a clearer insight for everyone.
iPhone 15 Pro: Small Battery, but Lasts Over 7 Hours
As mentioned in the specifications table at the beginning of the article, the iPhone 15 Pro is equipped with a 3,274 mAh battery. This figure might not be overly impressive compared to many other products in the same segment at the moment. However, when I conducted the battery test, the usage time surpassed my initial thoughts (when the device was first released with a small battery and powerful configuration, I thought the device could only last about 7 hours). For a more comprehensive view, I performed the iPhone 15 Pro battery test according to The Gioi Di Dong standards under specific conditions as follows:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks: Play Arena of Valor (graphics set as shown below), watch YouTube, browse Facebook, and use Safari browser.
- Each task lasted for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness set to 100%.
- External speaker on with 50% volume.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- No power-saving mode, adaptive brightness, GPS, or Bluetooth.
- Drained from 100% to 0%.
The results I obtained are as follows:

According to the measurement chart, the iPhone 15 Pro can last continuously for 7 hours and 28 minutes under rigorous testing conditions. This is a commendable usage time, slightly surpassing many products in the same segment. However, the battery consumption percentage remains relatively high, especially during intense usage like playing Arena of Valor Mobile, causing the device to warm up more than usual. This indicates that the temperature from the Apple A17 Pro still impacts the product's battery life.

Even after updating the iPhone 15 Pro to iOS 17.2.1, the device runs cooler but not significantly effective. It shows that Apple still needs more updates to mitigate the heating issue. When I use the iPhone 15 Pro in real-world scenarios, the phone still delivers a better battery life without the mentioned conditions. Specifically, I've used the device for about 8 - 9 hours a day with a single charge, a timeframe sufficient for comfortable usage throughout the entire day.

Additionally, I conducted a battery charging speed test on the iPhone 15 Pro, and the results are shown below. Note that I used the Ugreen 65W charger, so these results are for reference only.

The recorded result is 1 hour and 33 minutes to fully charge the iPhone 15 Pro. This is a relatively decent time considering I didn't use the official charger; I believe the charging time would be even shorter with Apple's fast charging standard. However, achieving over 30% battery in just 56 minutes is enough for approximately 4 - 5 hours of usage.
iPhone 15 Pro battery provides a gaming duration that is not excessively long.
In this section, I played 4 games, including Arena of Valor, Call Of Duty Mobile, Honkai: Star Rail, and Genshin Impact (each game for 1 hour), to observe how much the iPhone 15 Pro's battery percentage decreases for each game.

Similar to the above section, I'll share the conditions of this test with you:
- Play each game for one hour, repeating the process for the remaining 4 games.
- Start recording from 100% battery and fully recharge after playing each game for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness set to 100%.
- External speaker on with 100% volume.
- Enable WiFi, disable 4G (to prevent overheating and rapid battery drain).
- No power-saving mode, adaptive brightness, GPS, or Bluetooth.
Here are the results I obtained:

- Arena of Valor: Battery dropped by 15% after 1 hour of gaming.
- Call Of Duty Mobile: Battery dropped by 18% after 1 hour of gaming.
- Honkai: Star Rail: Battery dropped by 23% after 1 hour of gaming.
- Genshin Impact: Battery dropped by 27% after 1 hour of gaming.
As seen in the results above, the iPhone 15 Pro experiences significant battery drainage in the graphically intensive games Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. For the two less graphically demanding games, the battery drain is less, but still higher compared to many products I have reviewed before. Overall, there is a need for Apple to optimize the temperature to reduce battery consumption.
Apple A15 Pro battery performs well in everyday tasks
Knowing that many people don't play games on their phones, when using the iPhone 15 Pro for regular activities, the device offers a commendable battery life. To provide a more specific insight, I verified the percentage of battery drain on the iPhone 15 Pro while using popular apps like Facebook, Messenger, TikTok, Safari, and YouTube.

Before sharing the results, I will list the conditions of this test:
- Use each app for one hour, repeating the process for the remaining 4 apps.
- Start recording from 100% battery and fully recharge after using each app for 1 hour.

- Safari: Battery dropped by 12% after 1 hour of usage.
- Facebook: Battery dropped by 10% after 1 hour of usage.
- TikTok: Battery dropped by 12% after 1 hour of usage.
- YouTube: Battery dropped by 11% after 1 hour of usage.
- Messenger: Battery dropped by 17% after 1 hour of usage.
As seen in the results above, the iPhone 15 Pro's battery is not significantly drained by common apps, except for Messenger, which I used for video calls. These results indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro has better battery life when not gaming. Therefore, in scenarios without the conditions of the above test, I believe the iPhone 15 Pro can easily last more than a day!
Conclusion
Overall, the iPhone 15 Pro has good battery life considering the battery size it's equipped with. The device's temperature is a factor affecting battery life. Hence, if Apple can make improvements in future iterations, I believe the product will have significantly better battery performance.
