1. Design Aspects
Apple's design team's remarkable creativity shines through their products like iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and even Apple Watch. The iPhone 7 boasts an attractive and alluring appearance. Its solid aluminum frame, rounded edges, and 2.5D glass make for a comfortable grip. Featuring a premium 7000 series aluminum frame, it's more durable and lighter than the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s.
The original iPhone 7 debuted with five color options: Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black, and Jet Black. Among them, Jet Black is the most expensive but also prone to scratches and paint peeling, a significant drawback affecting iPhone 7 evaluations.
The rear camera size has been increased, protruding slightly as usual, but Apple has eliminated the aluminum rim around it. The iPhone 7 is the first iPhone with water resistance, rated IP67 military standard, allowing it to be submerged up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. However, the most notable change is that the iPhone 7 DOES NOT come with a 3.5mm headphone jack like other conventional phones. Users are required to use lightning headphones or a lightning to 3.5mm adapter to listen to music, watch movies, etc.
iPhone 7 utilizes a virtual home button with advanced Taptic Engine technology to create the sensation of pressing a physical Home button, eliminating worries about fixing a malfunctioning iPhone Home button. Touch ID fingerprint recognition technology remains intact on this button. Despite the relatively low screen resolution (750 x 1334) compared to other phones in the same segment, iPhone 7 is equipped with advanced technologies that make it appear sharp and clear without increasing the resolution.
2. Hardware, Performance
iPhone 7 employs the powerful 'orchard' A10 Fusion processor, the first 8-core chip designed for iPhone. Although it comes with 2GB of RAM, it's more than sufficient for the optimized iOS operating system. With iPhone 7, you won't encounter any lag or stuttering even when playing the most demanding games on iOS. Additionally, battery life has been improved thanks to the A10 Fusion chip, allowing iPhone 7 to last up to two hours longer than the previous iPhone 6s.
Apple has also enhanced storage options, starting from a minimum of 32GB, with options for 128GB and 256GB for iPhone 7. Furthermore, a new camera capable of capturing RAW images and a range of accompanying apps and effects have been added.
3. Photography Capabilities
The 12MP resolution from iPhone 6s remains unchanged on iPhone 7, but it's equipped with optical image stabilization and an f/1.8 aperture with 6 different lens layers. This allows iPhone 7 to capture photos and videos while moving with better quality, offering up to 50% improved low-light performance compared to iPhone 6s. The front camera resolution has been increased to 7MP, resulting in more detailed selfies and excellent video calls through FaceTime, Skype, or any other video call software.
Additionally, significant improvements have been made in video recording capabilities with resolutions of 1080p at 60fps, 4K at 30fps, and slow-motion (720p at 240fps).
4. Pricing
iPhone 7 is priced around 18 million VND (32GB), 20 million VND (128GB), 22 million VND (256GB). This price range is higher than previous iPhone models before their launch. Therefore, we can assess that iPhone 7 is aimed at the affluent demographic.
Through this review of iPhone 7, you can see that although Apple's latest smartphone model does not have outstanding specifications, coupled with the iOS operating system, it remains one of the best-performing phones. Moreover, with its excellent design and significantly improved camera performance in low-light conditions, it is still a phone worth buying despite its relatively high price.
If you want to save costs when purchasing an iPhone 7, you can opt for a used one, but be sure to check the hardware and whether the device has any faults. Also, be mindful of the iPhone's origin to avoid cases where the device you intend to purchase has an unclear source.
