Apple Pay set to work on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on iOS 16
As seen in Moser's screenshots, a new Continue with Apple Pay option has appeared on Apple's payment page when using the Edge browser. Previously, Apple Pay only worked on Safari in iOS 15 and above, and users couldn't utilize it on any other browser for online shopping.
While Moser didn't mention Firefox, some users discovered Apple Pay's compatibility with this browser even before the release of iOS 16 beta 4. Specifically, a Reddit post earlier this month discussed the new Apple Pay payment option on the Firefox browser in iOS 16 beta 2 and iOS 16 beta 3.

Apple has not made any moves or official confirmations yet. The timing of Apple's expansion of Apple Pay support and the supported browsers remains uncertain, according to Mytour.vn.

In addition, Apple Pay is still absent from the latest macOS beta update. As Moser pointed out, this could be attributed to Chrome, Edge, and Firefox browsers utilizing Safari's WebKit rendering engine on iOS as per Apple's requirements. Conversely, third-party browsers use their own tools on macOS, making it highly likely that Apple Pay will only support Safari on Mac.
