Three years back, if asked, 'Galaxy S or Galaxy Note?' I'd be utterly perplexed. It's like having two delicious dishes in front of us, but our stomach can only accommodate one. I always desired the S-Pen experience, the sleekness of the Note series, yet it's hard to overlook the superb camera and performance of the S series.

However, in 2022, Samsung 'merged' the two renowned series to introduce the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the latest addition being the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Hence, users no longer need to ponder over choosing between Galaxy S or Galaxy Note.
Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G with its 200 MP camera and 100x zoom is absolutely phenomenal, capturing every moment effortlessly.
Despite embodying the classic Note essence, the 'aura' of the S series in Galaxy S23 Ultra remains intact, most notably in its rear camera system. At present, the 200 MP sensor on the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G still surprises many users. Let me quickly outline the camera specifications of the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G for you to grasp easily!
- Main camera: 200 MP, f/1.7 aperture.
- Ultra-wide camera: 12 MP, f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree field of view.
- Telephoto camera I: 10 MP, f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom, OIS.
- Telephoto camera II: 10 MP, f/4.9 aperture, 10x optical zoom, OIS.
- Selfie camera: 12 MP, f/2.2 aperture.

I believe Samsung made the right decision by not abandoning the megapixel race on smartphones. That's why the company equipped the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a sensor of up to 200 MP, significantly larger than the 108 MP camera of previous generations such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Overall, this is an important upgrade that brings the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G closer to the image quality of professional cameras.

Previously, when experiencing the camera of Galaxy S23 Ultra, I've shared that its 100x zoom capability 'extends beyond the naked eye', which is a significant advantage of this phone. The image quality of the zoom on Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G is twice as powerful as previous generations (notably, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with only 50x zoom). Moreover, thanks to the excellent stabilization of Galaxy S23 Ultra, photos zoomed from 50 - 100x are clear and detailed.
Some may argue that upgrading the zoom capability of Galaxy S23 Ultra is unnecessary, but personally, I disagree. Thanks to the 'Space Zoom 100x' feature, we can capture things that are normally unseen by the naked eye, which is very useful in certain situations. For example, students may need to capture lectures from a distance, or we can capture information on billboards more clearly.

Not only useful for zoom shots, the 200 MP camera of Galaxy S23 Ultra also ensures that details are not lost even when cropping photos. To help you visualize the difference, I'll also compare photos taken in 200 MP mode and in automatic mode (12 MP with pixel binning technology).
From the photos above, we can see that the level of detail in the 200 MP photos is better reproduced compared to the 12 MP ones. Another important point that I highly appreciate is the post-processing of photos by the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G, which appears more natural, without leaving noise when zooming in, and the details no longer look artificial like in previous generations.
Below are some photos I took in various modes and lighting conditions, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G delivers very impressive results.

The performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G is outstanding with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.
Returning to the launch of the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G, many users opted to upgrade to Samsung's latest flagship. The reason isn't just the design or camera, but also the incredibly powerful performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G. Specifically, Samsung partnered with Qualcomm to create the exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for Galaxy devices, enhancing the user experience for work and entertainment.

Previously, when assessing the performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G, I found the gaming experience on this phone truly amazing. Combined with the 120 Hz display, my gaming controls became smoother, and the responsiveness was quick.

To demonstrate the superior performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, I'll compare the PUBG Mobile experience on the device with its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 9 (using the Exynos 9810 chip with 10nm process). While the Galaxy Note 9 could only handle PUBG Mobile with HDR graphics settings and Extreme frame rate (equivalent to 40 FPS), the successor Galaxy S23 Ultra performs even better. Specifically, the device allows me to push graphics to UltraHD level while maintaining the frame rate at Extreme without any drop.
Moreover, the current Galaxy S23 Ultra also provides a much smoother PUBG Mobile experience compared to its predecessor, the Note 9. If we compare the FPS charts of both devices (measured using PerfDog software), we can easily see that the average frame rate (pink line) of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is more stable than that of the Galaxy Note 9. Therefore, all in-game actions are handled very smoothly by the Galaxy S23 Ultra, whether it's shooting, chasing, running, or weapon switching.
While the comparison above may seem somewhat uneven at this point because the Galaxy Note 9 is almost 5 years old, we must acknowledge that Samsung has made considerable efforts over the years to make the performance of Galaxy S models increasingly robust. This is what allows the Galaxy S series in general, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra in particular, to 'Inherit the Power of the Note', inheriting the legacy left by the Note series.

In summary, the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside the Galaxy S23 Ultra will satisfy you in terms of entertainment capabilities. However, entertainment here doesn't just stop at gaming; it also includes video recording and photography. So, how does the performance of the processor inside the phone relate to photography and video recording?

For those who are unaware, the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G can produce outstanding videos and photos largely thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip. Specifically, this processor boasts an efficient NPU architecture with the ability to balance performance and power while using AI algorithms. As a result, users can capture higher-quality photos and videos in all lighting conditions.
Mastering all tasks in every condition with the S-Pen of the Galaxy S23 Ultra
After moments of delightful entertainment, everyone eventually has to return to the grind of work. It might sound mundane, but certainly not for those who own the Galaxy S23 Ultra. With all the essence inherited from the renowned Note series, this phone will provide users with the work experience of a 'professional': Fast, efficient, comfortable, and extremely creative.

For those who have used the Galaxy Note, the soul of this product lies in the S-Pen. Mastering the use of the S-Pen almost makes us feel like we have technological power in our hands. With just a few adjustments, the S-Pen can instantly become a 'magic wand' with a variety of useful 'spells' for our learning/work processes. That's why not only me but many users still carry a passionate love for the Note series, with its pure characteristic being the accompanying S-Pen.

Returning to the 'successor of the Note series' - the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G. Although not officially called the Galaxy Note, this smartphone is becoming the favorite Note generation for SamFans because of its legacy features but at a level of efficiency never seen before on any Galaxy Note model. Specifically, the S-Pen included with the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses Wacom integrated circuit technology, resulting in a latency of only 2.8 milliseconds, a blazingly fast figure compared to the 26 milliseconds of the predecessor Galaxy Note 10's S-Pen.

Moreover, the Wacom IC technology on the S-Pen of the Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts 480 circuits per second integrated with multi-point algorithms to predict the next direction of the S-Pen. This will make our writing, drawing, and note-taking smoother and more seamless. The most prominent evidence for this is the 'Convert Handwriting to Text' feature on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Simply put, after being 'written' on the screen, handwritten text immediately converts to text. This feature now supports cross-platform use, no longer limited to the Samsung Notes app like previous generations. Most familiar software today can be used (Facebook, YouTube, Zalo, Google, Viber, Line, etc.). Additionally, users can tap on handwritten text and convert it to text format if needed.

Furthermore, the non-touch gestures on the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G's S-Pen have been enhanced with new modes, allowing for more personalized gestures (very useful when presenting, taking photos, or translating languages, for example). Moreover, the AI feature in the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G has been enhanced to make the use of the S-Pen more efficient, especially when quickly jotting down an idea.

The S-Pen on the Galaxy S23 even provides a realistic writing experience with its fine 0.7mm tip and the ability to recognize 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Furthermore, Samsung has increased collaboration with third parties like Google to allow users to experience writing and drawing fully across more applications.

A notable feature is the ability for users to draw or make notes on Google Maps, write keywords in multiple languages (including Vietnamese) on Google's search bar.
Significant Improvement in Battery Life for Galaxy S23 Ultra
One of the major strengths of this year's Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G is its battery life, despite having the same 5,000mAh capacity as its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. In many reviews I've seen on both domestic and international news sites, it's widely acknowledged that the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G offers an impressive battery life. Usage time can exceed 1 day depending on the tasks users perform. I also conducted a familiar battery test according to the standard of Mytour (a mobile retailer) under specific conditions as follows:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks including: Playing Liên Quân Mobile (with graphics settings as shown below), watching YouTube, browsing Facebook, and using Google Chrome.

- Each task lasts for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness set to 100%, Full HD+ display quality, 120 Hz refresh rate.
- External speaker on at 50% volume.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- Battery saver, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth turned off.
- Test conducted from 100% to 0% battery.
The results obtained are as shown below:

Based on my testing, the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G battery can last continuously for 9 hours and 28 minutes. Personally, I consider this to be a very good figure, significantly better than its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra (8 hours and 10 minutes). Therefore, I believe that the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G can meet the basic usage needs of users well or even help you conquer intense games with friends.

If you want to know more about normal usage time without the test conditions mentioned above, you can check out the article experiencing a day with the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G with conditions such as adaptive brightness enabled, screen resolution set to Full HD+, Wi-Fi and 4G connected, Bluetooth and GPS enabled. The results I obtained are as follows:

Looking at the results table, we can see that the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G can last for nearly 14 hours of usage, an extremely impressive figure given the usage frequency mentioned. If I didn't conduct the tests mentioned above and simply used the phone for basic tasks, I would only need to recharge the battery after more than a day. Overall, the numbers above can vary depending on everyone's work tasks.
Conclusion
For most other smartphones on the market, the 'Ultra' experience usually means a larger battery, a bigger screen, or a more powerful chip. The common point of these products is to emphasize the immediate experience, a simple yet effective strategy.

While the Galaxy S23 Ultra could have followed the formula above, Samsung opted for breakthroughs to succeed. The result is that we now have a truly 'Ultra' product with enough changes to convince tech enthusiasts in general or SamFans/NoteFans in particular.
