To help children balance between study and play, many places nowadays incorporate traditional games into group activities. One of the most beloved games is the 'Jumping Over the Cloth' game, which not only enhances players' physical agility but also fosters a lively atmosphere, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage. In today's article, Mytour shares with you how to organize the 'Jumping Over the Cloth' game, helping you understand more about this game.

This is an ancient folk game, popular in group recreational activities, suitable for all ages. Before diving into the gameplay, let's understand what preparations are needed.
1. Preparation before playing
This game is suitable for all ages, genders, without distinction between male and female, and without limiting the number of players. If there are many players, it can be divided into several different groups, each group consisting of 5-7 people. There must be a minimum of 2 people to organize the game.
To ensure the game is fun and convenient, organizers should choose spacious, flat areas without any obstacles or dangers, such as playgrounds, communal areas, etc.
When playing, prepare the number of cloths equivalent to the number of teams participating and chalk to mark the starting and finishing lines.
2. How to organize the game

Before starting, divide the players into teams, each team consisting of 5-7 members. Depending on the number of participants, there can be different numbers of teams, but the number of members in each team must be equal to ensure fairness.
The organizers/referees will mark vertical rows, with each row about 1m apart, there will be one more row than the number of teams. Mark a finish line and a starting line about 10m apart. Depending on the players' age and fitness, the length of the playing distance can vary.
After everything is prepared, members of each team will stand in a vertical line in front of their starting zone. The first person in each team will stand ready inside the cloth sack, holding the mouth of the sack tightly.
Upon hearing the signal from the referee, the first person in each team will quickly grip the mouth of the sack tightly and use force to start jumping. Players must jump to the finish line as quickly as possible, then return to the starting line, handing the sack to the next player. The second player continues the same process, and so on until the last player.
At the end of the game, the team that returns first, with fewer penalty points for rule violations, will win.
3. Game Rules
During the game, any team that jumps before the starting signal, fails to jump to the designated area, or drops the sack before reaching the finish line will be considered in violation of the rules and may be disqualified from the game.
If the first player of a team has not reached the replenishment line and the next player of that team has already jumped, it will be considered a rule violation.
If a player falls while jumping, they must quickly get up and continue jumping to complete their part of the competition; they are not allowed to give up midway as it would affect those behind them.
Any player who jumps into their own team's row is also considered a rule violation.
The winning team is the team that completes their part of the competition in the fastest time with the fewest rule violations.
4. Notes for Playing 'Jumping Over the Cloth'

Before starting, the organizers/referees will explain the rules and regulations of the game. Players must understand the rules to avoid violations and unfortunate incidents. Safety must be ensured at all times during the game.
In addition to single-cloth jumping, to increase the challenge and fun of the game, organizers can also introduce double-cloth jumping. When jumping in pairs, the rules and gameplay are similar to single-cloth jumping. However, instead of one person jumping at a time, two players will jump together in the same sack. Therefore, larger sacks need to be prepared for this variation.
Above are the guidelines for organizing the 'Jumping Over the Cloth' game. Wishing all participants a fun time playing!!!
