On the evening of November 25, pro gamer Scout was spotted by Vietnamese League of Legends fans in Ho Chi Minh City for a vacation. These fans also shared that the Mid Laner, currently under LNG, is adorable and incredibly friendly. However, Scout's vacation seems to have come to an end as he revealed that he left Vietnam yesterday (November 26).
Scout has recently been discovered to have taken a trip to Vietnam.Following an unsuccessful 2023 Worlds season where he was eliminated by T1 in the Quarterfinals, Scout's aforementioned vacation was much needed. However, troubles seem to persist for this player as controversies with his former team EDward Gaming (EDG) resurface. Just hours ago, Sohu, a news outlet in the LPL region, reported that EDG is likely to win the lawsuit against Scout for contract violation.
Sohu recently revealed that: “EDG is highly likely to win the lawsuit against Scout, leaving the player with only 2 options”The root cause of this incident stems from the end of 2021 (when EDG won Worlds) as the team raised salaries for its members. At that time, Scout decided to sign another contract with an LCK team while still under contract with EDG. By early 2023, he then decided to reduce his salary to join LNG Esports. This led to EDG suing Scout for serious contract violations.

Firstly, he must return to EDG and fulfill the remaining years of the contract. Given Scout's past decision to reduce his salary to leave, he's unlikely to choose this option. The second option is for Scout to pay compensation equal to 2 - 3 years' worth of salary.
Sohu assesses: “Scout is likely to have to compensate for the contract with an amount equal to 2 - 3 years' worth of salary”In early 2023, Blix.gg revealed that S-tier players (former Worlds champions) like Scout would receive an annual treatment of 30 million NDT (approximately 102 billion VND). If the former 2021 Worlds champion has to compensate at this salary level, the amount he owes EDG could reach 60 - 90 million NDT (approximately 204 - 306 billion VND). This is an incredibly large sum even for a top LPL star like Scout.
Blix.gg once disclosed: “There are 7 S-tier players (former Worlds champions like Scout) with annual incomes of up to 30 million NDT”Regardless of the chosen course of action, this incident will significantly tarnish Scout's image in the eyes of the audience.
