First discovered in 1997 during a cave exploration by royal cave experts from the UK, this sinkhole was initially known as the Dead End due to its lack of exits, forcing explorers to swim back along the old path to return. For over 20 years, it lay dormant in the deep jungles of Phong Nha – Ke Bang, harboring many strange mysteries. It wasn't until the spring of 2019, amidst the lingering chill of the early year days, that Jungle Boss cave explorers stumbled upon this secluded enigma of a sinkhole. From then on, the name Kong Collapse was born, accompanied by countless mysteries decoded and many more still hidden beneath the earth's surface.

The name Kong fits impeccably with the grandeur and form of this sinkhole. An unexpected result awaited everyone with a depth exceeding 450m, equivalent to the distance a free-falling rock covers in 9 seconds. They measured multiple times to ascertain the depth of this sinkhole. Kong unquestionably became one of the deepest sinkholes in the world.
Alongside conquering Kong's summit, Jungle Boss explorers unraveled the mysteries within Kong's right eye socket. Inside lies an entire forest situated 100m above the sinkhole floor. From the eye socket, Jungle Boss experts conducted a straight descent rappelling experience to the river beneath the sinkhole, now one of the most beautiful camping sites on the planet.

In early 2020, Jungle Boss cave experts and American cave explorers continued their journey to explore Kong, where they discovered that Kong is not a Dead End. Beneath the earth's surface within this sinkhole is an expansive forest, with layers of rock and soil stacked upon numerous passageways within the sinkhole. Experts uncovered at least 2 more small caves beneath the sinkhole, including one roughly 1km long, dubbed the Python Cave.

The Python Cave remains an enigma that Jungle Boss explorers have yet to fully uncover due to high water conditions at the cave's end. Explorers believe the Python Cave is the extended part of Kong leading to another nearby cave. If true, Kong would grow even larger and more colossal, with collapsed mountain slopes connecting through unnamed caverns. The mysteries of the Python Cave and Kong's extension, alongside Kong's left eye socket - untouched by human footprints - are endless enigmas awaiting, urging explorers to continue their journey to conquer Kong, the mysterious beast.
