Recent reports indicate that Apple will introduce and showcase its long-rumored mixed reality AR/VR headset at WWDC 2023 on June 5.
The latest predictions by Ming-Chi Kuo also align with the rumors, stating that Apple has meticulously prepared for the introduction of its entirely new product line.
Apple is set to unveil its first augmented reality headset on June 5Previously, Kuo mentioned that Apple had pushed back the production timeline of its AR headset to Q3 2023, potentially ruling out its introduction at WWDC. However, in his latest update, Kuo revealed entirely different news.
In a brief report published on Medium on Monday, Kuo stated that the upcoming release of Apple's AR headset next month is a 'good omen' for the supply chain stock prices. The analyst also mentioned the top 5 most expensive components of the product.
Comprising a 4K micro-OLED display, dual M2-based processors, outer casing, 12 optical cameras for hand motion tracking, and external power source. These components are supplied respectively by Sony, TSMC, Everwin Precision, Cowell, and Goretek.
The price of this AR/VR headset is expected to start at around 3,000 USD. This indicates it won't target regular users; instead, the company positions this product for developers, content creators, and professionals. Apple plans to sell only one of its mixed reality headsets per day at each retail store and has informed suppliers that they expect sales to reach between 7 to 10 million units in the first year of launch.
