In the latest forecast, Kuo suggests that Apple will compensate for the absence of the iPad lineup this year by updating all models next year, starting with the 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Air models.
Apple might launch 12.9-inch iPad Air next yearKuo suggests that the previously rumored all-new 12.9-inch iPad Air will feature an LCD instead of Mini-LED like the 12.9-inch model. However, it will utilize an oxide multi-touch display, promising better display performance compared to the current 10.9-inch iPad Air that uses an a-Si multi-touch display.
After the 2024 iPad Air lineup debuts, Apple will revamp the iPad Pro models with premium OLED displays. These premium variants are rumored to come in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, featuring redesigned chassis as well as the powerful M3 chip.
Kuo believes Apple's final production roadmap for 2024 unveils a new approach and the 11th generation iPad. Analysts predict these changes will only result in a modest increase in iPad shipments compared to this year, estimating around 52-54 million units in 2024 versus 2023. Such growth still falls far short of the peak 63 million iPads shipped by Apple in 2022 during the pandemic.
