Glistening tiered waterfalls, enchanting tropical forests, lush green rice fields… painting a mesmerizing landscape of beauty.
Lampang Enchantment – Thailand's Emerging Gem in Tourism
Lampang, situated in the North, is not only hailed as Thailand's rising star in tourism with its vibrant ceramic art village, captivating performances of horses and elephants showcasing exquisite arts like painting, dancing, and even soccer… but also boasts other intriguing attractions to captivate travelers.

Destinations in Northern Thailand such as Ngao, Chae Hom, Wang Nuea, Mueang Pan remain serene and often overlooked by tourists, despite their numerous appealing spots.
Pause at the hilltop of Tham Pha Thai National Park, admire the spectacular views from above, breathe in the fresh air, explore the tranquil and fascinating life of the people in Ngao – a mountainous district in Northern Thailand – marking a new chapter in the journey to discover a part of Southeast Asia that remains relatively unknown.
The entrance to Tham Pha Thai cave spans approximately 30 meters, adorned with a Buddha statue at the entrance, flanked by two stalactite columns towering from the ground to the cave ceiling, symbolizing endurance. Next to the Buddha statue is an intertwined calligraphic pen representing King Rama VII and members of the royal family.
This cave, formed around 9 million years ago, highlights the Lampang rocks dating back approximately 230 million years. Remarkably, visitors are not allowed to touch the stalactites as it may affect their growth. Inside the cave, different chambers like Tham Jone, Robbers are delineated. Despite its narrow entrance obscured by inclined rock walls, stepping inside reveals a spacious chamber with a hole that can accommodate over 100 people.

Another intriguing spot within the national park is Lom Phu Khieo. Lam Phu Khieo is a natural reservoir nestled in a remote valley in Ngao district. On one side, there are towering cliffs, and on the other, a gentle slope; the mysterious green water in the lake remains tranquil. Locals regard the lake as sacred, using its water as holy water. Large trees shedding leaves surround the lake, yet the water remains crystal clear.
Northern Lampang is rich with lush forests extending towards Phayao province. Here, travelers can marvel at the charming rice fields resembling paintings along the colorful road to Chae Hom district. Chae Hom is peaceful with cool tropical forests and lush green rice fields. Amidst the vast rice fields, the towering mountain stands out prominently.

At the mountain's peak lies Wat Chalerm Phrakiat Phra Chom Klao Rachanusorn temple, built in memory of King Rama IV. Following a winding path from the mountain's base and ascending the gentle steps is the only way to reach the temple and admire the impressive panoramic view of the valley from above.
The next stop for travelers is Chae Son National Park, renowned for its hot springs with an average temperature of 73 degrees Celsius. The park offers spa bath services, accommodations, and a well-developed camping area.
Additional Note:

Lampang is approximately 600 km north of the capital city Bangkok, preserved and managed by the tourism authority of Chiang Mai city.
The main office of Tham Pha Thai National Park is located on National Highway 1 and Phaholyothin Road, milestone 667, 65 km from Muang.
Chae Son National Park is around 38 km from Lampang, accessible via Highway 1252.
