The Lao government has officially announced the complete reopening of all international borders starting from May 9, 2022
Laos reopens all international borders from 9/5
The Laos government declares the full reopening of all international borders, allowing individuals vaccinated against Covid-19 to enter the country without any testing requirements.

All international borders will be open for citizens and residents, and travelers just need to present a certificate of having received the full two doses of the vaccine, without the need for additional tests when entering by land, water, or air.

Citizens of countries with mutual or unilateral visa exemption agreements with Laos can enter without a visa. Citizens of countries without visa exemption agreements with Laos can now apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of Laos abroad or through the online e-Visa visa application system. Visa-on-arrival services will also resume at some international borders of Laos.
Additionally, individuals aged 12 and above who are not vaccinated must undergo a rapid test within 48 hours before departure and present the results upon arrival. Travelers contracting Covid-19 in Laos are responsible for their medical expenses and quarantine. Moreover, the government has reopened entertainment venues and karaoke bars. However, visitors must still strictly adhere to preventive measures against the pandemic.
