2. Best Time to Visit Koh Rong
The ideal period to explore Koh Rong is from November to July. During this time, the weather is splendid, the sea is calm, and the island attracts a considerable number of tourists, ensuring that tourist services are utilized to the fullest. Conversely, those who prefer tranquility and avoiding the peak season can opt for the remaining months. However, it's advisable to check the weather forecast in advance to steer clear of rainy days.

3. How to Reach Koh Rong?
3.1 Leg Saigon - Sihanoukville
My journey kicked off on a Thursday evening, returning on Sunday night. Departing from Miền Tây Bus Station (Ho Chi Minh City), I boarded a Kumho bus at 9:00 PM, heading to Hà Tiên with a ticket price of 170,000 VND/way. After over 8 hours of travel, I reached Hà Tiên, took a short rest, and caught the earliest bus to Xà Xía border gate.
From the bus station in Hà Tiên, a complimentary shuttle will take you to Xà Xía border gate. Here, I completed the exit procedures (Vietnam) with a fee of 50,000 VND. Subsequently, a 5-minute walk across the Prek Chak border gate allowed me to complete the entry procedures into Cambodia.

After completing the necessary procedures, we took a shuttle to Sihanoukville at around $50 for 4 people. After a 3-hour journey, we finally set foot in the beautiful district of Sihanoukville. My travel companions and I had scheduled a day to explore and enjoy the area.
3.2 Leg Sihanoukville - Koh Rong

4. What to Do in Sihanoukville and Koh Rong?
4.1 Sihanoukville
Evenings here are a blast! All the lively activities unfold in the city center (near the twin lion statues by the beach). You'll find bars that stay open all night and restaurants offering a variety of dishes from around the world.

But the liveliest spot is perhaps the Serendipity beach area. People often gather here for wrestling matches, dance competitions, various games, and bonding with friends. My favorite part is the sensation of sitting on those comfortably cushioned wicker chairs, sipping cocktails, gazing at the sea, and chatting with friends. It's a truly fantastic feeling! Additionally, you can experience the festive atmosphere by lighting fireworks or lanterns (available at $5 for 2) along this beach.

4.2 Koh Rong
Koh Rong offers an abundance of exciting activities. Firstly, the stunning beaches with crystal-clear waters, fine white sand, and picturesque landscapes are a must-mention. Here, you can freely splash in the cool water, engage in beach games, take a stroll, or simply sit on the serene sand and savor moments of tranquility.
