Ideal Time to Travel to Ha Long
Ha Long is typically divided into 2 seasons:
The peak season for visiting Ha Long is in the summer, with hot weather perfect for families to relax and enjoy the beach, attracting many international tourists for sunbathing.
Winter is the off-peak season, a time for sightseeing and relaxation.
The most suitable time for Ha Long travel is from March to May and from August to October. During this period, people can avoid the peak season (June - July) and large storms.

Bus:
Majority of buses gather at Mỹ Đình Bus Station and Lương Yên Bus Station. Well-known bus companies from Hanoi to Ha Long include Đức Phúc, Kum Ho, Ka Long, with travel time ranging from 3 to 4 hours. You can choose between sitting or sleeper buses, priced between 80,000 to 200,000 VND.
Motorbike:
There are numerous routes to reach Ha Long, but two commonly taken and easy paths are:
From Hanoi, take route 5 to the Sài Đồng intersection, then head to Bắc Ninh. From Bắc Ninh, follow route 18 through Phả Lại – Chí Linh – Đông Triều – Uông Bí – Ha Long, covering approximately 155 km.
From Nội Bài Airport, follow the national route 18 through Bắc Ninh – Phả Lại – Sao Đỏ - Đông Triều – Uông Bí – Ha Long. The route spans about 160 km.
