*Benefits of Changing Fixed Telephone Area Codes
Changing fixed telephone area codes is an essential advantage for the telecommunications database.
Changing fixed telephone area codes is a necessary step to accurately improve and plan the mobile number database in Vietnam, which is currently affected by unused subscriptions and user interference.
In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communications asserts that changing fixed telephone area codes is an inevitable trend to efficiently utilize the telecommunications database in the era of explosive information technology development. It is also a method to address past issues such as uneven area codes (three digits and two digits) in some provinces and cities.
Changing fixed telephone area codes brings significant benefits to users
After changing the fixed telephone area codes, the length of dialing a phone number between mobile and fixed phones will be increased to 11 digits.
All area codes, after conversion, are brought to the 2-prefix, ensuring the maximum limitation of issues like subscriptions, spam SIM cards, or other fraudulent methods using fixed phone numbers that cause trouble for users.
For many mobile users today, blocking advertisements via text messages from Viettel, Vinaphone, and Mobifone has become one of the essential needs. Despite this, to understand how to block advertisements via text messages for Vinaphone, Viettel, or Mobifone, any user must remember important syntax to avoid receiving annoying ads tailored to each network.
Starting from September 15, 2018, more than 74 million 11-digit subscribers of the 5 major networks in Vietnam, including Viettel, VinaPhone, MobiPhone, Vietnammobile, and Gmobile, will officially be transitioned from 11 digits to 10 digits. You can find more information in the guide on transitioning from 11 digits to 10 digits shared on Mytour.
