1. Overview of the Rewards and Recognition Law
The latest Rewards and Recognition Law currently in effect is the 2022 Rewards and Recognition Law, slated for enforcement starting from January 1, 2024, passed by the National Assembly on June 15, 2022, during its 3rd session, 15th term.
- Structure: The 2022 Awards and Recognition Law consists of: 8 Chapters with 96 Articles
- Chapter I: General Provisions (from Article 1 - Article 15)
- Chapter II: Organization of awards, titles of merit, and criteria for titles of merit (from Article 16 - 32)
- Chapter III: Subjects, criteria for rewards

2. Highlights of the 2022 Emulation and Commendation Law

- The 2022 Emulation and Commendation Law also stipulates new provisions as follows:
+ A form of commendation can be awarded multiple times to an individual
+ Avoid multiple commendations, multiple forms for a single achievement.
+ Emphasize commendation for individuals, collectives, households directly engaged in labor, production; individuals, collectives working in border areas, on the sea, islands, regions with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.
+ Ensure gender equality in emulation, commendation. This content inherits and promotes the spirit of the Gender Equality Law.
- Enhance the principle of 'transparency' in the emulation and commendation principles.
- Add the element of 'unity' to the recognition of achievements, no longer requiring the 'singular' aspect of commendation as in the old law.

Thus, it can be seen that the amendment and supplementation of the Emulation and Commendation Law are very important and necessary. However, there are still some issues that need to be considered, discussed, and opinions gathered to make the implementation and application of the law in practice easier.
