1. Anti-corruption legislation in our country from 1945 to the present
- The first legal document addressing anti-corruption was Decree 64-SL establishing the Special Inspection Committee on November 23, 1945. This served as the legal basis from 1945 to 1954.
- In the periods from 1955 to 1998, notable legal documents include Decree 149-LCT dated October 21, 1970, by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly; the decree on punishing bribery in 1981; and the anti-corruption decree in 1998 (amended in 2000).
- On November 29, 2005, the issue of anti-corruption was first addressed by law, leading to the enactment of the Anti-Corruption Law 2005, subsequently amended in 2007 and 2012.
- After years of implementation, the Anti-Corruption Law was no longer suitable for the practical anti-corruption efforts in our country. Moreover, compliance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption required Vietnam to have a new Anti-Corruption Law. Hence, the Anti-Corruption Law 2018 was issued. 2. In which year was the Anti-Corruption Law enacted?
- The first Anti-Corruption Law was enacted on November 19, 2005, and took effect on June 1, 2006.
- Subsequently, the Law was amended and supplemented on certain provisions of the Anti-Corruption Law enacted on August 4, 2007, and November 23, 2012.
- However, all of these documents have expired since the effective date of the Anti-Corruption Law No. 36/2018/QH18 (July 1, 2019).

- Addition of penalties for dishonest declaration of assets and income - dismissal from office under Article 51.
