The actions of this gaming publisher could be considered a significant deterrent to gamers who frequently display aggressive behavior.
Even though it's already 2023, with numerous updates and developments in both features and graphics, the issue of player toxicity persists. However, there's one thing that remains constant over the years: the problem of toxicity from players - something that rarely changes, and is also a concern for many legitimate gamers. There have been many measures taken by publishers to control this problem, but none have truly shown effectiveness.

However, recently, Ubisoft has taken a rather surprising and stringent action against its toxic player community. Not only did they collaborate with Riot to research and develop AI to limit toxic behaviors and speech in-game, but Ubisoft has also taken a much stronger stance. This includes partnering with local law enforcement agencies to collectively enhance culture and clean up the gaming community.

Specifically, Ubisoft's customer relations center in Newcastle has partnered with the Northumbria Police through various means. Alongside sharing training programs, Ubisoft will also monitor cases of player toxicity with severity levels divided for direct reporting to the Northumbria Police station. Specifically, if there are any highly offensive or life-threatening remarks among players during Ubisoft gameplay, all data will be transferred directly to the police station.

Whether this will be effective or not remains to be seen, but at the very least, it serves as a warning and a wake-up call to Ubisoft's gamers. Either play the game in a civilized manner or possibly receive invitations and penalties from the police station.
