League of Legends: New Skarner Gameplay Sparking 'Briar 2.0' Speculations Among Gamers

New Appearance of Skarner

As one of the earliest champions, Skarner's appearance looked rather rudimentary. After the revamp, Skarner will resemble a more authentic creature, larger, more menacing, with color changes, and sporting three tails instead of just one. Skarner now looks like a true dominator of the Shuriman desert.

New Skarner Gameplay 

Apart from the cooler, more terrifying new appearance, Riot has completely overhauled the gameplay of the new Skarner, from abilities to spell animations. First off, the crystal capturing mechanism for vision and stats on the map has been removed. So, instead of being a jungle-focused control-oriented champion, Skarner will now play more aggressively, more bloodthirsty. Details of his abilities are listed below:

• Q Ability: When activated, Skarner uses his tail to smash and pick up a piece of terrain on his tail. When he has a piece of terrain, Skarner's attacks deal additional damage. Reactivating this ability causes Skarner to throw that piece of terrain towards the designated direction, dealing damage to the surrounding area.
• W Ability: Skarner stomps the ground forcefully, causing a shockwave that deals magic damage to enemies within range, while also granting himself a layer of temporary shield.
• E Ability: Skarner dashes through some terrain of his choice, gaining movement speed but restricting maneuverability (similar to Briar's frenzy and Sion's ultimate). He will always attempt to face the enemy, and if successful, he impales the enemy into the nearest terrain, dealing damage and stunning for a short duration.
• Ultimate Ability: Similar to Skarner's old ultimate, but now instead of suppressing a designated enemy, he will grasp all targets in a cone-shaped area in front of him, and the crowd control duration will also be significantly reduced.
