While the original Galaxy SmartTag had a rectangular shape with a small hole for a keychain, Samsung seems to have completely redesigned the Galaxy SmartTag 2. It now features an elongated shape with a significantly larger hole for a keychain, seemingly large enough to slide a finger through.
What's interesting is that Galaxy SmartTag 2 appears in real-life images without the numeral '2' in its name. The print reads 'Galaxy SmartTag,' but the FCC application confirms the name 'Galaxy SmartTag 2' and model number EI-T5600.
Two additional details confirmed by the FCC application for Galaxy SmartTag 2 align with previously detected data of this accessory on Bluetooth LE and UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) certification agencies.
Samsung initially launched the Galaxy SmartTag in 2021, with two versions available. The standard version lacked UWB connectivity, while the SmartTag+ offered this feature. According to Sammobiles, Samsung's decision not to develop a 'Plus' version of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 indicates it will feature both Bluetooth and UWB connectivity. Let's wait and see!
