
Google Drive is an incredibly convenient cloud storage tool from Google. With Google Drive, you can store up to 15GB for free. In this article, I'll guide you through some handy and quick Google Drive tips on both mobile and desktop.

1. Add files to the home screen
If you frequently use a particular file and want to open it quickly, you can add it to the home screen and with just a tap, you can easily open the file. To add it to the home screen, follow these steps:
Step 1: Tap the three-dot icon at the corner of the screen next to the file and select Add to Home Screen.

Step 2: Next, Google Drive will ask for confirmation once again, choose Add, and the file will automatically be added to the empty space on the home screen.

2. Use without an Internet connection
To use without an Internet connection, open the file and tap the three-dot icon at the corner of the screen, then select Available Offline. This way, you can access the file even when you're offline.

To review those files, select the three-dot icon at the corner of the screen and choose Offline; all your offline files will be there.

3. Star important folders
If a file is too crucial and you don't want to lose it, you can use the Star feature. To do so, select the three-dot icon at the corner of the screen on that file and choose Add to Starred folder.

To open a starred file, select the Starred tab.

4. View File Locations
To view the file location, right-click on the file and select Show File Information.

5. Delete Orphaned Files in Google Drive
'Orphaned' files are files that you saved in a folder, but later deleted the folder, leaving these files without a storage location, becoming 'orphaned' files in your account. These files often do not appear in your file list but still consume Drive storage space. You should delete them to avoid exceeding Drive storage capacity by following these steps:
Step 1: Enter the following command line into Drive's search box is:unorganized owner:me

Step 2: Then, you will see a list of all 'orphaned' files, right-click on the file and select Delete.

Step 3: To completely delete the file, go to the Trash section and select Permanently Delete. This way, the 'orphaned' file has been completely removed from your Drive.
