- 500g of fresh live sand worms
- 150g of pork belly
- 2 eggs
- 300g of fresh bamboo shoots
- Peel of 1 small tangerine
- 3 tomatoes
- 2 star fruits
- 3 bunches of scallions, 3 stalks of thyme
- 1 bulb of dried shallots
- 1 bunch of herbs, including mint and cilantro
- Seasonings: Fish sauce, seasoning powder, cooking oil, peppercorns...

Step 1: Preparing ingredients for sand worm and bamboo shoot soup
- Purchase fresh live sand worms and place them in a bowl with warm water around 60 degrees Celsius. Gently stir with chopsticks to remove mud, dirt, and debris from the worms' feet and any damaged worms. Rinse the sand worms thoroughly with water multiple times and drain them.
- Peel and slice the bamboo shoots, then boil them in a pot for about 5 - 7 minutes to remove any unpleasant odor. Remove the bamboo shoots from the pot, rinse them thoroughly, and drain.
- Rinse the tomatoes and slice thinly, clean the star fruits by rinsing thoroughly, then use a knife to remove the edges and cut the star fruits into thin slices in star shapes.
- Clean the tangerine peel and cut it into small strips.
- Clean the dried shallots, remove the skin, crush them finely, and finely chop the scallions after washing them thoroughly.
- Clean and wash the thyme, mint, and cilantro, then finely chop them separately.

Step 2: Mixing the ingredients
- Prepare a large bowl or clean basin for the prepped sand worms along with 2 eggs, ground pork, thyme, dried shallots, cilantro, mint, and a bit of fish sauce, seasoning powder, and broth mix. Then, mix all the ingredients thoroughly with chopsticks.
Step 3: Cooking sand worm and bamboo shoot soup
- Heat a pot on the stove, add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, and heat until hot. Add some chopped purple onion and sauté until fragrant, then add tomatoes and bamboo shoots and stir-fry for about 2 - 3 minutes. Add 500ml of water and bring to a boil.
- When the water boils, use a ladle to add a portion of the mixed sand worm mixture to the pot, repeating until all the sand worms are added. Then add the sour star fruit to the pot, cover, and simmer until the sand worms are cooked. Season to taste, stirring the soup once more, and simmer for another 2 - 3 minutes until the soup is evenly cooked and seasoned. Then turn off the heat.
