By default, anyone can post on your Facebook Timeline, but you can change that. Find out how to temporarily lock your Timeline to stop unwanted posts.

Step 1: Log in to your personal Facebook account, click on the downward arrow icon at the top left corner, and select Settings as shown below.
Step 2: In the Settings interface, click on the Timeline and Tagging section and hit Edit under Who can post on your Timeline?.
Step 3: Instead of leaving it as Friends, change it to Only me to lock down your Facebook Timeline and block everyone from posting on it.
Step 4: Once you've configured your preferences, click on Close to complete the process of locking your Facebook Timeline.
Now, you can ask your friends to check or use another Facebook account. If successful, your friends won't see a posting box when they visit your Timeline.
Quite simple, with just a few basic steps, you can lock down your Facebook Timeline to prevent friends and strangers from posting random links on your personal page. This way, you won't have to deal with unfamiliar posts when logging into Facebook.
