Learn how to type Vietnamese using WinVNKey keyboard layout

While many of us use popular Vietnamese typing tools like VietKey2000, Unikey, and EVKey, we often overlook the once-famous WinVNKey. If you're new to WinVNKey, this guide will help you get acquainted with typing Vietnamese using WinVNKey.

First, you need to download WinVNKey typing tool from its official website: http://winvnkey.sourceforge.net/download-viet.htm

1. Running the application for the first time

Step 1: After downloading, open WinVNKey. Upon first startup, the program will prompt us to select a language. Choose Vietnamese for the Viet language.

Step 2: Click on Yes to allow the software to automatically update when connected to the internet.

Step 3: Once setup is complete, we can start using the software to type Vietnamese. Click OK to minimize the application to the system tray automatically and click Exit to close the application.
