The following team compositions in Legends Arena operate optimally only when key units are at the 3-star level.
Yordles - The Nexus Alliance
One of the prominent features of Yordles tribe in Season 6 of Legends Arena is its heavy reliance on whether players can early upgrade their units to 3 stars. At the start of Season 6, this assists players in acquiring Veigar early and firmly grasping victory if this unit is upgraded to 3 stars. Additionally, units like Lulu, Vex also need to reach the final level to possess the best healing and shielding abilities possible.
However, when transitioning to Season 6.5, upgrading to 3 stars directly impacts the damage output of the team composition. The reason being Corki is a unit with remarkably high damage but lacks a tribe - a system that provides too many skill damage stats. Hence, to elevate Corki to the main damage dealer, this chess piece must be at the 3-star level and maximally supported by the team composition. Naturally, you can play with 3 or 6 Yordles variants, but regardless of the variant, Corki at 3 stars remains crucial.
Twitch - The Inventor's Domain
From its name alone, we know that this lineup requires Twitch at 3 stars to operate well. Essentially, with a 1-gold unit playing a pivotal role, Twitch needs to reach 3 stars as early as possible in any lineup. For the Twitch - The Inventor's House lineup, you also need to upgrade other units like Singed, Warwick, or Camille to 3 stars to ensure frontline resilience.
Once all the above elements are upgraded, the Twitch - The Inventor's House lineup is one of the best climbing options because it ensures players will be in the top 4. Simply put, it's a high damage, good resilience, and effective buff and support unit combination. However, this is only the case if you have many 3-star champions. Otherwise, players are at risk of early elimination when using this lineup.
Talon - The Elegant
Similar to Twitch, Talon also requires being at 3 stars to be able to 'carry the team' and fight against other lineups at the end of the match. Moreover, with the reinforcement from the VIP effect, Talon must be at 3 stars to maximize its standard damage output. Therefore, regardless of which variant of the Talon lineup you use, the prerequisite is to upgrade this unit to 3 stars.
Furthermore, the Talon - The Elegant lineup has the characteristic of having very few frontline units before only having Blitzcrank and Leona. Clearly, they lack the wide-area crowd control ability of Braum, so resilience at 2 stars is quite limited. This makes this lineup even more dependent on 3-star champions because just failing to meet one of the above conditions means players will lack damage, resilience, and are prone to defeat.
