StanbyME is LG's latest offering, a wireless personal entertainment device. Essentially, it's a touchscreen display that operates similarly to a TV but with a flexible stand and integrated battery.
Differing from Samsung's Lifestyle TV series like The Sero or Serif, LG's product has a smaller display, emphasizing portability.
2. Ultra-thin Screen Bezel Design
LG's device features a 27-inch screen, 60Hz refresh rate, multi-touch support, and an ultra-thin bezel for a premium feel, suitable for various interior spaces.
The screen resolution is just Full HD, revealing details like jagged edges. However, for TV usage standards, this pixel density is appropriate, equivalent to 32 to 40-inch screen models. The IPS panel is also coated with anti-glare, allowing outdoor use without distortion.
3. Flexible Rotating Screen
The screen can rotate flexibly 180 degrees vertically, rotate 130 degrees horizontally, or tilt 50 degrees forward and backward. Real-world experience provides a smooth and secure rotating feel at every angle of use.
The entire screen can also be raised or lowered by about 10 cm. Users ranging from 150 to 180 cm tall can comfortably use it in a touch-friendly posture.
The entire back is covered with canvas fabric and a subtle pinkish-gray tone. The material gives a premium feel, resists dirt, and ensures a firm grip during rotation movements.

Real-world tests reveal a remarkably loud maximum volume, suitable for entertaining a 30m2 room or outdoor gatherings. The audio quality is quite good, but it's advisable to stay below 80% volume to prevent slight distortion and buzzing.
The power and volume control buttons are discreetly positioned at the rear. The design is elegant, but finding the buttons can be a bit challenging when needed due to their small size. LG keeps the connectivity simple with just one HDMI 1.4 and one USB port for external memory data reading.

The base of LG StanbyME houses a battery for up to 3 hours of continuous operation - sufficient for watching an entire movie. This is a worthwhile feature compared to Samsung's Lifestyle products, offering higher portability in various spaces. The product also comes with 5 wheels underneath for easy movement on the floor.
6. webOS 6.0 Operating System
StanbyME runs on the webOS 6.0 operating system, but it's more streamlined compared to the brand's latest TV models. The usage is similar, featuring all the apps for watching movies, OTT television, and social networks. The major drawback is the horizontal screen orientation, as not many software supports this, including Youtube.
The control unit mimics a TV design but in white instead of black, and it eliminates the 'air mouse' feature. In practical use, StanbyME rarely requires the controller, mainly relying on direct interaction with the touchscreen or physical buttons.
7. Swift and Easy Connectivity
StanbyME supports wireless screen mirroring from Android or iOS phones. It comes equipped with a full range of connections: Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 support, and compatibility with the HomeKit smart home control.
