LG unveils groundbreaking curved display

Prior to CES21, LG Display introduced a 48' OLED display that can be curved. This is the first screen that can be flexed or operate in a flat screen mode, depending on usage needs. The slimness of the display is also preserved thanks to sound emitting technology from the screen, eliminating the need for traditional speakers.

The 48' LG screen can be curved up to a 1000R degree, roughly translating to a 1000mm curved radius while maintaining normal functionality. For example, during gaming, users may opt for curvature to enhance their experience, while for watching TV or working, a flat screen mode is preferred.

LG equips it with CSO technology (Crystal Sound OLED), emitting sound without traditional speakers. A device as thin as 0.6mm is utilized to reproduce sound towards the screen, ensuring absolute thinness for the display, reminiscent of Sony's approach.
