After a rather lengthy wait, LG has recently unveiled its latest flagship of 2018, named the LG V40 ThinQ. This smartphone stands out among many others this year, impressing tech enthusiasts in recent days.
According to GSM Arena, the LG V40 ThinQ is the world's first phone to allow users to capture ultra-wide or zoomed-in photos, thanks to its triple camera system on the back. Specifically, this system comprises an ultra-wide 107-degree lens, a standard 78-degree lens, and a telephoto 45-degree lens. This camera setup also provides users with the ability to optically zoom 3X.
The main camera utilizes a 12MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.4µm, significantly larger than the 1.0µm pixel on the LG G7 and V35 phones. It comes with a large f/1.5 aperture lens to capture more light and, combined with optical image stabilization (OIS) technology, greatly improves low-light image quality compared to previous generations. Additionally, this is the first LG camera to feature dual autofocus.
The remaining two cameras on the LG V40 ThinQ allow you to capture wider angles or zoom in closer. The telephoto camera will have a resolution of 12MP, f/2.4 aperture, while the ultra-wide lens with a resolution of 16MP is borrowed from its predecessor, the LG G7.
All three rear cameras on the LG V40 ThinQ feature digital image stabilization for videos and support HDR. The phone offers the best video recording quality at 4K@60fps and 1080p@240fps.
On the front of the LG V40 ThinQ, users will find a dual selfie camera system consisting of an 8MP sensor (f/1.5 aperture, 80-degree wide angle) and a 5MP sensor (f/2.4 aperture, 90-degree wide angle). These lenses are calibrated by LG to capture portrait photos with studio lighting and other stunning effects.
Regarding the specifications, the LG V40 ThinQ features a FullVision display measuring 6.4 inches with Quad-HD+ resolution, utilizing OLED panel, HDR10 support, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and featuring the 'notch' design at the top.
Under the hood, the LG V40 ThinQ is powered by the robust Snapdragon 845 chip, paired with 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (with microSD card support), a 3,300 mAh battery with fast charging/wireless charging support, and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Furthermore, this flagship model is equipped with water and dust resistance with an IP68 rating, and meets US military MIL-STD-810G durability standards.
Finally, the LG V40 ThinQ will officially hit the shelves on October 18th with a starting price of approximately 20.9 million Vietnamese dong, available in two color options: Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue.
