Enforcing a 3-hour weekly gameplay limit for this demographic is bound to give many gamers headaches.
Tencent is renowned as one of the major publishers in the Chinese market. Recently, this industry giant has implemented stringent regulations for gamers using its products in this market. Specifically, gamers under 18 years old will only be allowed to play games for 3 hours per week.

This isn't the first time Tencent has implemented strict regulations for its gamers. Not long ago, Tencent devised a schedule for adolescent gamers, restricting their gameplay to between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Implementing such strict measures is aimed at ensuring control over the age demographics of Tencent's players. Previously, Tencent also implemented its facial recognition system to prevent players from using others' accounts to play games.
In recent years, there has been much debate surrounding excessive gaming among a segment of gamers. Online gaming, in general, has also brought about prejudices within the online community. Consequently, gaming has become a sensitive topic not only in a single country or region but also globally.

Gaming is meant for entertainment; that has always been its ultimate purpose since its inception. However, as society evolves, the gaming industry follows suit, diversifying in countless ways. This evolution has led gaming to lose some of its original essence.
