Lingoes dictionary lookup software is a free multilingual tool. It supports translating entire passages, single selected words, and pronunciation assistance. Installation is simple, with minimal system memory usage, and features an intuitive, user-friendly interface.
This article guides users on installing additional English-Vietnamese dictionaries into Lingoes and utilizing the software effectively.
To begin, download and install Lingoes onto your system. Then, proceed to add the English-Vietnamese dictionary as follows:
Step 1: Open Lingoes software, in the Guide section select Dictionaries…
Step 2: In Dictionary Options, choose Download From Lingoes.
Step 3: Navigate to lingoes.net in your web browser. Scroll down to the Vietnamese Dictionaries section and select Free English-Vietnamese Dictionary.
Step 4: Click on the download link to save it to your computer.
Step 5: Click Save File and then press OK to save it to your computer.
Step 6: After downloading the Free English-Vietnamese Dictionary file, open it.
Step 7: Check the checkboxes next to Add To 'Index Group' and Add to 'Text Capture Group', then press OK.
After successful addition, the Free English-Vietnamese Dictionary will appear in Dictionary Options.
Step 8: Choose the English-Vietnamese dictionary you just added and click the Move to Up icon to set it as the highest priority for this dictionary set.
Step 9: Switch to the Index Group tab and Text Capture Group tab and repeat Step 8 to make this dictionary the default for Lingoes.
Using Lingoes
Enter the keyword you want to look up as shown below, and the results will be displayed below.
On the left side are words similar in characters to the ones you input. Simply click on the word you want to look up, and the results will be displayed accordingly.
To translate a passage, click on Text Translation.
Simply install the software on your computer, and you can easily look up dictionary entries on your computer even without internet access.
