Visa exemption policy for citizens of these 13 countries entering Vietnam will be implemented for a period of 3 years.
List of 13 countries officially granted visa exemption by Vietnam
On March 15th, the Government issued a resolution on visa exemption for citizens of countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus when entering Vietnam with a temporary stay period of 15 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, based on meeting all the conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law.

Before the outbreak of the pandemic, Vietnam unilaterally exempted visas for 13 countries and bilaterally for 88 countries and territories. However, due to the pandemic outbreak since 2020, the Government has issued a resolution to suspend this mechanism.
The visa exemption policy for citizens of the above countries entering Vietnam will be implemented for a period of 3 years, from March 15, 2022, to March 14, 2025, and will be considered for extension according to Vietnamese law.

This resolution replaces Government Resolutions No. 21 dated February 28, 2020, No. 23 dated March 2, 2020, No. 29 dated March 11, 2020, and No. 33 dated March 19, 2020, regarding the suspension of unilateral visa exemption policies with certain countries.
The Government assigns the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lead the summarization, evaluation, and recommendation with the Government regarding the extension, suspension, or termination of unilateral visa exemption policies specified in this resolution.
