iOS 9 was officially released on September 16th, making it the latest iOS operating system version. With the integration of new technologies, it has met high expectations from Apple and garnered significant user attention. However, not all devices have the privilege to upgrade to this operating system. Below is the list of devices permitted to upgrade to iOS 9.
List of Devices Upgradable to iOS 9
1. For iPhone Devices
Currently, the following iPhone models are eligible for the iOS 9 update: iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s. Users with devices iPhone 4 and older will not be able to upgrade to iOS 9. However, upon their release, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6s come pre-installed with this operating system.
2. For iPod
iPod touch 5th generation is eligible to upgrade to iOS 9, users of this device can update their devices accordingly.
3. For iPad
- iPad Air includes: iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2
- iPad mini includes: iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini
Users of the aforementioned devices are permitted to upgrade to iOS 9 for usage. Currently, there are several methods to update, install iOS 9; the easiest, quickest, and safest way is to update over-the-air (OTA). To do this, users simply need to go to Settings - General - Software Update and wait for their devices to update to the new operating system.
