Travel and food are inseparable companions. Let's join the well-traveled feet and the discerning palates to recommend you the definite dishes to 'dig in' when you set foot in their homeland.
Native locals recommend specialties not to miss when traveling.
1. Norway – Bergen Fish Soup
Mr. Harald Hansen, a Norwegian, speaks about this soup as follows: “There's a dish that I absolutely adore, it's fish soup, and the best is the fish soup in the port city of Bergen”. Bergen Fish Soup is a dish that all tourists to Norway should try once when visiting our beautiful country. The Norwegian Sea is gifted with the finest seafood in the world, providing us with snow cod, cod, salmon, shrimp, and delectable vegetables.

2. Brazil – Legendary Churrasco Grilled Meat
Joao Rodrigues – A communications expert with 10 years of experience representing Brazil says: “The main and popular dish in Brazil is Feijoada, but this won't be my top recommendation. I would advise you that after a long flight, upon landing, head straight to a Churrasco grill. Then, try a serving of pork or grilled fish served in the authentic Rodizio style, and enjoy it with a specialty Caipirinha cocktail”.

Churrasco is almost like a barbecue feast, with giant skewers of grilled meat carrying traditional flavors. Rodizio-style service is a rotating serving style, where the server comes to your table slicing hot pieces of meat onto your plate.

3. United Kingdom – Traditional Grilled Meat
In the UK, Sunday would be incomplete without a dinner with all the traditional grilled dishes. They are a combination of hot grilled meats, fragrant sauces, and delicious Yorkshire pudding. It's all part of the long-standing culinary culture here. Nowadays, anywhere in the UK, from five-star restaurants, luxury hotels to pubs serving food or cozy cafes, you'll be served an enticing grilled dinner like this without having to wait until Sunday.

5. Japan – Sushi – Ramen Noodles – Eel
As one of the countries with a Michelin-starred culinary scene, visiting Japan, deciding what to eat might leave you “spoiled for choice”. However, regardless, you should still indulge in 3 iconic dishes including sushi, ramen noodles, and eel.
First up is Ramen noodles. With up to 26 different types of noodles and broth so diverse that even a Japanese person wouldn't dare to claim they've tried them all... The must-visit places to enjoy Ramen and be amazed are Sapporo, Hokkaido, Kakodate, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Hakodate...

Next is Sushi. Needless to say, this is a dish you must try once when in Japan. Sushi in Japan ranges from high-end 3 Michelin-starred restaurants to extremely diverse styles, from traditional to modern. Lastly, there's eel. Although eel may have toxins, if prepared carefully, it's an incredibly delicious fish dish.

6. Sweden – Kalix Lojrom Caviar
Whatever dish you try when in Sweden, one you must taste is the famous Kalix Lojrom caviar - an exquisite delicacy. This dish is often served with toasted bread or crispy fried potatoes, tomato sauce, onions, a slice of lemon, and a touch of sweetness. The best caviar experience is enjoyed with a glass of champagne.

7. France – Raclette Cheese
In Paris, people often try to indulge in famous French dishes like Beef Bourguignon, Coq au Vin, or foie gras. But another equally delicious dish is the melted Raclette cheese. Without it, the winter meal feels incomplete. Just thinking about it makes you crave it.

8. Australia – Vegemite Savory Spread
I'm sure you wouldn't want to call it a dish, but this is a favorite in Australia. Vegemite savory spread is often spread on toast and crispy biscuits. It has a very natural flavor, although it's quite salty so you won't be able to pair it with sweet treats. However, for me, this spread is incredibly delicious and addictive.

9. South Africa – Biltong
To forever remember the taste of South Africa, the first dish you should try is Biltong. Think of a true Biltong without being marinated in unpleasant harmful chemicals. To fully enjoy this dish, find a cold bottle of Castle Lager beer, or a renowned Cape South African wine. Now, you're in South Africa.
