Since its release, Hwei has undergone 13 rounds of drastic changes by Riot due to the complexity of its abilities, making it difficult for many players to approach. However, even after the official release, the champion has yet to find its footing, forcing Riot to issue additional hotfixes.
Once again, Riot's excessive creativity causes hardship for gamers. The latest champion, Hwei, only boasts a mere 30% win rate across all servers. Despite possessing powerful skirmish control abilities, the double-tap requirement poses challenges for players in utilizing its skills.
Therefore, Riot has made significant efforts to buff Hwei, allowing the champion to sustain longer in skirmishes and enabling players to easily execute combos.

In hotfix 13.24b, Riot increased the damage for Hwei's Flame Crush (QQ) to facilitate spell trading more comfortably during the laning phase. Additionally, Infernal Gaze (EW) received increased duration and casting range to help you easily control vision in many important positions. Furthermore, Riot also increased Hwei's basic stats by 10% to enhance survivability, especially Energy.
Lead game designer Riot August stated that tweaking Hwei just a day after its release is the right direction even though the champion remains quite strong. The only thing players need to master when picking Hwei is managing resources, especially Energy. Currently, Riot is conducting some experiments on alternative approaches for the mage through future support spells.
