Long Son Fishing Village: An Unmissable Destination in Vung Tau
Located approximately 100km from Saigon, Long Son is an island commune belonging to Vung Tau city, known for its captivating eco-tourism attractions adored by many.
Long Son Island commune has long been renowned for its natural beauty. With gentle and hospitable locals, traditionally relying on fishing and salt production for livelihood, Long Son spans 92 km², with 54 km² being mainland and the rest being saltwater marshes. Today, besides farming and salt production, locals engage in oyster farming, fish farming, tourism, and seafood processing.
The island commune comprises a main island nestled at the foot of Nua Mountain, the end of the Phuoc Hoa Mountain range extending into the sea, and a small island known as Go Gang Island. When visiting Long Son, you can also explore the unique architecture of the renowned Mansion, learn about Mr. Tran, who played a pivotal role in the development of this land. For added excitement, tourists can experience the life of fishermen by trying their hand at fishing at the mouth of the Rang River. Fishing is relatively simple: just lower the iron cages into the water, wait for the tide to recede, and then use the winch to raise the cages. If desired, visitors can also enjoy a boat ride along the river, stop by golden sandy beaches for sightseeing and photography, and admire the distant Vung Tau cityscape from the sea.

There are two routes from Saigon to Long Son: Leave the city via National Highway 51 or take the Thủ Thiêm Tunnel towards Cát Lái, then take the Cát Lái ferry following the signs to Bà Rịa town. Long Son is approximately 35 km from Bà Rịa town. Both routes will pass through a toll booth on National Highway 51 shortly, then there's a right turn at a T-junction to Long Son Island.
