GUIDE TO BACKING UP DATA ON NOKIA LUMIA, MICROSOFT LUMIA
On Windows Phone, after logging into your Microsoft account, users can activate backup features for apps, messages, photos, and more. Data is stored online through Microsoft's cloud computing technology with options including: Internet Explorer favorites; Installed app list; Interface and configuration settings; Call history; App settings; Messages (SMS); Photos and videos... all achievable when backing up Lumia data. First, you need to create a Microsoft account on your Windows phone.
Users need to enable backup on Windows Phone 8 devices by navigating to: Settings => System => Backup. App list and settings. In this option, Windows Phone 8 devices allow backup of installed app lists, Internet Explorer favorites, app settings (including email accounts, contacts, etc.), theme settings, call history... when backing up Lumia data in general and app lists in particular.

Text Messages

Chat contents (on Yahoo or Facebook social network) won't be backed up. Additionally, to delete messages, users must manually delete them. Photos and Videos
Automatically loading photos appeared on Windows Phone 7, but with Windows Phone 8, Microsoft has upgraded this feature to include video uploading. Using Onedrive (SkyDrive) for storage allows users to review them when they've backed up Lumia data, including photos and videos.
By default, this backup option is activated, and users need to be aware that it will consume a lot of network data. For photos and videos, Wi-Fi connection is required to upload with the best quality (under 10 megapixels) and upload to OneDrive account. For higher-quality photos, a computer or external memory card is needed for backup.
Restore Backup
Restoring backups is as simple as setting up a new Windows Phone device. All data is stored in the cloud, so users only need to log in to the Microsoft account used on the previous device when backing up Lumia data.
