According to information from the International Cooperation Department, the candidates vying for the position of Tourism Ambassador alongside Ly Nha Ky and Huynh Thi Ngoc Han include Ms. Do Thi Hong Thuan, an English teacher.
The race for the position of Vietnam Tourism Ambassador in 2013 became more intense with the last-minute appearance of new candidates. In early March 2013, the International Cooperation Department announced that besides the two candidates, actress and businesswoman Ly Nha Ky and the Travel Beauty of the 2011 Miss Ethnic Vietnam competition, Huynh Thi Ngoc Han, they received additional applications from Ms. Do Thi Hong Thuan.
'The information we have received indicates that Do Thi Hong Thuan graduated from the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, is an English teacher, and actively participates in social activities. She came across an article about the Tourism Ambassador in the newspaper and decided to apply herself due to her passion for travel and desire to learn more about this title,' revealed Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Director of the Center for Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Promotion - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, to Dan Tri journalists.
The application dossier clearly states that Do Thi Hong Thuan was born in 1985, originally from Thanh Hoa province. She currently resides with her family in Hanoi.
The academic achievements of this new candidate are also noteworthy: she graduated with honors from all levels of education including elementary, middle, and high school; won second prize in district literature competition in Tay Ho (1999), received encouragement award in History subject in Hanoi (2001), and obtained the Peace Scholarship to study abroad in Australia (2008)…
According to Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Do Thi Hong Thuan is also considered a heavyweight candidate for the Tourism Ambassador position. However, at this point, who will be chosen remains a big question mark. In the next few days, the International Cooperation Department will organize consultations with the media about the three candidates.
It can be said that at the current time, many opinions still lean towards supporting former Tourism Ambassador Ly Nha Ky. The International Cooperation Department highly appreciates what Ly Nha Ky has contributed throughout her tenure.
