“Personally, I feel that at this time, my health is not guaranteed. Additionally, after a year serving as Vietnam's Ambassador of Tourism amidst the turbulence I have endured, it has greatly affected my family and loved ones,” the beauty shared.
The voting for Vietnam's Ambassador of Tourism 2013 is coming to its final stage. Among the three candidates, Lý Nhã Kỳ is considered the most promising. In her tenure as Vietnam's Ambassador of Tourism, she has made significant contributions to promoting Vietnam's tourism image.
However, unexpectedly on March 14th at noon, Lý Nhã Kỳ sent a letter to the media regarding her withdrawal from the Ambassador of Tourism 2013 voting competition.

Beginning the letter, the beauty wrote:
“In the past few days, I have been following the media and social networks and have felt the trust and expectations of the leadership, especially the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. More than anyone, I also recognize the affection of all the media and the people of Vietnam who have supported me throughout this time.
For myself, I feel that during my time as Vietnam's Ambassador of Tourism, I have done my utmost to not betray the trust and expectations of the state leadership and the people.
In the two-month period of voting for the new term of tourism ambassadorship, I am eagerly looking forward to everyone finding a worthy ambassador to meet all the requirements and expectations of the people of Vietnam”.

Lý Nhã Kỳ Reflects on Her Journey as Ambassador of Tourism
“During my journeys as a tourism ambassador, I gained invaluable life experiences. However, to reach where I am today, I had to go through a rollercoaster of emotions, including tears. I remember the early days of my tenure, where there were both supporters and dissenters, some even sought ways to hurt me. But for me at that time, the nation's mission was paramount.
I was filled with joy when Halong Bay was declared one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, honored when Hanoi was chosen to host the ASIAD 2019. I was immensely proud to see the national flag flying alongside those of other powers in Malina, Johannesburg… Those memories are forever beautiful and help me live better as a Vietnamese citizen”.
In the conclusion of the letter, the beauty addresses the reason for withdrawing from the role of Ambassador of Tourism.
“Personally, I feel that at this time, my health is not guaranteed. Additionally, after a year serving as Vietnam's Ambassador of Tourism amidst the turbulence I have endured, it has greatly affected my family and loved ones. I cannot bear to see my loved ones suffer such heartache and sadness.
Therefore, I am writing this letter to the media and those who love me, to request withdrawal from the candidacy for Vietnam's Ambassador of Tourism 2013, so that everyone can find a new ambassador worthy of the expectations.
If my decision disappoints the trust and support of everyone during the voting period, then I deeply apologize. Although I will not continue with the candidacy, I will certainly continue to be active and support activities to promote tourism for the new ambassador.
What makes me happiest is that as Vietnam's first tourism ambassador, I have raised awareness about promoting Vietnam's image worldwide and heightened the Vietnamese people's consciousness about tourism development.
Ho Chi Minh City, March 14, 2013
Yours sincerely,
Lý Nhã Kỳ”
We are currently in contact with Lý Nhã Kỳ to further understand this decision. Information will be continuously updated for readers.
