The introduction of the MacBook Air M2 begins with an image of a white and blue feather descending onto the new MacBook, symbolizing two things: a lightweight MacBook and a new color option.
Specific images of the MacBook Air M2 gradually appear, revealing a MacBook Air that has undergone significant changes in appearance. The machine features a squared-off design with rounded corners, giving it a look similar to the previously released MacBook Pro.
This design contributes to the screen inside the machine appearing more squared-off. Specifically, we have a rabbit ear-shaped, Liquid Retina display measuring 13.6 inches, boasting 1 billion colors with a brightness of 500 nits (25% brighter). This brightness is equivalent to the recently released MacBook Pro 13 M1 and Pro 13 M2.
Above is the 1080p HD camera supporting FaceTime, which is twice as sensitive as before.
Despite its squared-off appearance, according to Apple, the overall weight of the MacBook Air M2 remains light, with a figure of 1.25kg, and the machine still maintains the characteristic slimness of the Air series at 11.3mm.
One of the design changes in the MacBook Air M2 is the reappearance of MagSafe, allowing users to choose to charge through this port or through the 2 Thunderbolt ports.
The Magic Keyboard features TouchID for user convenience.
The machine utilizes 3 microarrays, 4 external speakers, and supports Spatial Audio Dolby Atmos.
According to Apple, the machine is capable of processing images 20% faster than the MacBook Air M1. It also edits videos 38% faster than the M1 version.
Additionally, Apple introduces a new charger with 2 Type-C outputs, supporting fast charging of 67W. It can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes. Moreover, the machine offers 18 hours of battery life when watching videos.
The machine will be available in 4 colors, starting at $1199, $200 higher than the previous generation. Students can purchase it for $1099, with delivery scheduled for next month.
