macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15 now come with the 'Low Power Mode' feature, just like iPhones.
WWDC has concluded, and despite Apple's unveiling of features at the event, iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS 12 Monterey still have undiscovered functionalities, including the Low Power Mode feature, which was not introduced or mentioned at the event.Low Power Mode is a battery-saving feature that has been widely popular on iOS and iPhones. It helps extend the battery life of iPhones by optimizing performance, animations, and background tasks to maximize usage time. Now, this feature has been brought to macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15, meaning that MacBooks and iPads can now benefit from this power-saving mode to prolong device usage. To enable this feature on macOS, go to
System Preferences > Battery > Power Adapter > check the box for Low Power Mode. On iPadOS, navigate to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode. When activated on iPadOS, the battery icon on the screen will change from white to yellow, indicating successful activation. However, in macOS Monterey Developer beta 1, there's no way to know if this feature is activated. Interestingly, the feature still works even when the MacBook is plugged in.According to Apple's description on macOS Monterey, the Low Power Mode feature optimizes performance and reduces power consumption to extend battery life, resulting in quieter operation for MacBook with less fan noise. If you want to experience the latest versions of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or macOS Monterey early, you can refer to the articles below.According to9to5Mac's report.
