Regarded as one of the grandest and most splendid Khmer temples in the Southern Khmer region, Xiêm Cán Temple is a beautiful architectural masterpiece, a renowned spiritual tourism destination in Bạc Liêu.
Magnificent Xiêm Cán Temple, over a century old

Situated approximately 7km southeast of Bạc Liêu City, this century-old temple maintains its intricate ornamental motifs and unique architectural style among the 22 Khmer temples in the province. The temple gate, adorned with a soft earthy yellow hue, embodies the Khmer spirit. Above it rise three towers, reminiscent of Angkor architecture, adorned with finely crafted multi-headed serpent statues. Surrounding the temple and linking to the gate are walls embellished with divine serpents and vibrant, captivating motifs.
Entering the central courtyard of Xiêm Cán Temple, one encounters a spacious area adorned with ancient starfruit and cajeput trees, neatly lined up, providing refreshing shade.
More than just a religious site, Xiêm Cán Temple, like other Khmer temples in the Southern region, serves as a cultural and educational center for the community, preserving ancient and contemporary folklore, traditional cultural heritage, and educational materials.
