True to its name, Red House Backpacker didn't disappoint me one bit. On the contrary, this hostel offered me a plethora of delightful and unforgettable experiences that I'm sure would be hard to come by elsewhere, even during my brief stay of only 2 days and 1 night. Why, you ask? Let's delve into the reasons below!
1. Red House is impressively spacious and nestled on an incredibly picturesque hill!
Around 10 a.m., my sister and I arrived in Da Lat after a rather tiring bus journey. Consequently, we decided to head straight to Red House for check-in and some rest. One major plus point is that Red House is centrally located, just 700 meters from Lam Vien Square, approximately 1 kilometer from Da Lat Market, and about 800 meters from Yersin Park. The ease and convenience of getting around were remarkably convenient and straightforward, even for someone as directionally challenged as myself.

The first impression upon seeing this hostel in person is that it... is incredibly spacious. True to its name, the entire space of the prominently red-colored house stands out. With a total area of 500m2 and the prominent use of red, Red House gives the feeling of stepping into a mansion on a hill commonly seen in familiar American films right when you're outside the downtown area.

Therefore, this villa cum hotel is extremely popular among foreign guests and young people!
2. Red House boasts unique and distinctive architecture compared to the majority of hostels in Da Lat!
After taking a stroll around the hostel, I noticed that the villa is wonderfully designed and particularly special! The owner has dedicated a third of the house's area to create a spacious garden area, serving as both a parking space for guests and a venue for BBQ parties in the evening.

Every single item in Red House is carefully curated by the owner's hands!
The remaining two-thirds of the area are used to build a magnificent villa with a reception desk adjacent to the breakfast/coffee area overlooking the Da Lat valley, private rooms on the first and second floors for couples or families, and a series of exquisite dormitories with a capacity of 6-10 people leading directly to the communal bathroom on the basement floor.

Right from the first step into the house is the reception desk designed very attractively, truly Nordic in style!

Next to the reception desk is a door leading to the dining area with a stunning valley view!

The stairways between floors are beautifully decorated with the characteristic red color and numerous potted plants!

However, the entrance to the Dorm rooms is painted in yellow, reminiscent of famous hotels in Thailand!

Right next to the entrance to the dormitory rooms is the staircase leading down to the communal bathrooms...

Beyond expectations, although it's a communal bathroom, everything is very clean, bright, and especially discreet.
All pathways leading to each area are painted in vibrant colors following the trend and further decorated with authentic Vietnamese items handpicked by the owners, creating a modern yet balanced blend of old-fashioned charm typical of Da Lat. Initially, I was somewhat taken aback by such an unusual architectural and design style, but it's precisely that distinctive novelty that earns Red House great support and enthusiasm from foreign guests.

Believe me, nearly every corner of this hostel is Instagrammable! Moreover, it sparkles so much
In total, Red House has 20 different rooms, catering to the diverse needs of each type of guest. As I described above, the private rooms include 10 rooms, comprising 1 Twin room for 4 people, 2 VIP rooms, and 7 double rooms with king-size beds! All private rooms have huge windows with views either directly to the city center or the dreamy pine hills, and the room style is decorated quite elegantly and luxuriously, suitable for those traveling with their partner or family.

The Twin room is one of the most beautiful rooms with a view directly overlooking the city center!

The interior of the room follows a warm and cozy brown tone, yet it's also very elegant and refined.

The King-size bed room is spacious and suitable for couples!
It's quite regrettable that during our stay here for a few days, my sister and I couldn't book a private room, so we could only stay in the dormitory. However, I think that's also a stroke of luck because the dormitory room is fantastic, guys! The room is spacious, clean, bright due to the large windows letting in plenty of sunlight, and the design is super suitable for young people. Moreover, each room has a huge capacity, from 6-10 people/room, so sometimes the dormitory rooms are even more in demand than the private rooms!

The Dorm room is spacious, offers high privacy, and comes with lockers for your belongings, ensuring safety!
3. Red House and what makes it stand out from other hostels:
As mentioned earlier, the majority of guests staying at Red House are foreigners, with up to 90% being standard 'Backpacker' Westerners, and the rooms are always fully booked regardless of holidays. Besides the unique architectural design, I believe the main reason why this hostel receives such great support is the lively, vibrant, and enthusiastic atmosphere created by the owner. She is very friendly, always engaging with everyone as hospitably as possible, providing the spacious villa with a comfortable, cozy feeling like home.

Not only that, Red House also frequently organizes cooking classes to teach guests how to cook. In the evening, right in the spacious courtyard, there are BBQ parties with bonfires hosted by the owner to bring everyone closer together. If you're traveling in a large group and want to organize a BBQ, just tell the owner and everything will be prepared from A to Z at a very affordable price, and the food is delicious beyond words.

The cooking classes are open to both Vietnamese and foreign guests

In the evenings, BBQ parties are usually held, where everyone gathers around the fire, dances, and has a great time!

And here is the BBQ party I was fortunate to enjoy during my 2-day stay at Red House.
One thing I really love about this place is that you get to enjoy a complimentary self-service breakfast. And let me tell you, the breakfast here is top-notch, no different from a real buffet with main dishes changing daily, accompanied by 3 types of fruits, beverages like soy milk, tea, coffee... Moreover, everything is freshly prepared and used on the same day, so it's quite satisfying.

The breakfast dishes are varied and diverse, changing daily.

These buffet meals are all meticulously prepared and best of all, FREE for everyone!

And if you want to enjoy delicious and have plenty of choices for breakfast, make sure to wake up early!
Furthermore, Red House also offers many accompanying travel services such as motorbike and bicycle rentals, adventurous tours exploring all of Da Lat (Trekking, canyoning, …). It's a shame that I only had 2 days in Da Lat so I didn't have enough time to book a tour to explore all 4 famous waterfalls.

Red House doesn't carry the typical romance and poetry often found in Da Lat. At Red House, it's an incredibly youthful and liberating atmosphere because everything here exudes a sense of freedom and sophistication. Everyone is very polite, friendly, and respectful of each other's personal space, so the much-needed relaxation for a trip is fully preserved. That's something I highly appreciate during my 2-day stay here.

It seems like all of Da Lat shrinks within our sight!
And lastly, the booking price of Red House is very cheap compared to the quality of service and accommodations we receive. If you want to learn more about this friendliest villa in Da Lat, click HERE!
