How to remotely shut down a computer using an iPhone
Shutting down a computer remotely is not unfamiliar to many people. However, using an iPhone to shut down a computer is still a question mark. Follow these steps to enable this feature.
Step 1: Download the Off software on both your iPhone and computer.
Step 2: On your computer, download and extract and install as usual.
Step 3: After installation, at the bottom right corner of the screen, there is an Off icon. Right-click on it to select commands such as:
- Force close application on shutdown: Force close applications when shutting down the computer.
- Avoid hibernation when going to sleep: Prevent hibernation when entering sleep mode.
- Keep computer awake: Keep the computer always awake.
- Set a password: Set a password for the computer.
Step 4: Open the Off app on your iPhone > Tap OK to allow the app to find and connect to devices on the local network > Connect to the same Wi-Fi as your computer to discover devices together > If your Windows computer is found, you will see the message We’ve found your computer… Click Continue to proceed.
Step 5: Here you will see the following actions:
- Shutdown: Shut down the computer.
- Restart: Restart the computer.
- Sleep: Enter sleep mode.
- Lock: Lock the computer.
- Wake: Keep the computer awake.
- Keep Awake: Keep the computer always awake.
- Display Text Message: Display a text message.
Since this is the free version, you can only use Shutdown. Press Shutdown to turn off the computer.
