In today's digital age, our communication needs are high, and we often use calling apps. Among them, WhatsApp stands out for its safety and security in calls. In this article, let's explore how to use WhatsApp for making free group calls.
Initiating Group Voice or Video Calls
If you haven't downloaded WhatsApp yet, visit App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) to get it.
Step 1: Launch the WhatsApp app and navigate to the Calls tab; you can find this tab at the bottom on iOS and at the top on Android.
Step 2: Press the Phone icon with a plus sign, located at the top right on iOS and at the bottom right on Android.
Step 3: Click on New group call to open your contact list. If you don't see the name of the person you want to call, use the search bar at the top to find them.
Step 4: Tap on the names of the participants in the call; a checkmark will appear next to them. Their avatars will also show up in the upper part of the address book.
Step 5: Press the Phone button to initiate a voice call or Camera to make a video call to all selected individuals.
Initiate a group call from the group chat
Step 1: Firstly, create a group chat on WhatsApp by switching to the Chats tab, then click on the small square icon in the top right corner to start a new chat.
Step 2: Click on New group, then choose the people you want to add to the chat group and click Continue.
Step 3: Name the chat group >> Create.
Step 4: Inside the chat group, press the Phone or Camera icon to initiate a call.
Add people to the call
If both of you want to add another person while in a call, follow these steps:
Step 1: Within the chat, press the Phone or Camera button to initiate a call.
Step 2: During the call, tap the Add participant icon at the top right corner. This action will display your contacts.
Step 3: Click on the name of the person you want to add, and when prompted, press Add.
