Starting April 1, international travelers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can enter Malaysia without the need for quarantine.
Malaysia Fully Opens its Tourist Gates from April 1
Malaysia will completely open its borders and transition into considering Covid-19 as an endemic disease, as announced by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on national television on March 8.

International arrivals only need to present a negative PCR certificate issued within 48 hours before departure. They can also use rapid test results conducted within 24 hours upon arrival to travel across Malaysia.

Additionally, starting April 1, the country will waive quarantine. The nation also relaxes some restrictions and social distancing measures to contribute to the return to normalcy. Restaurants can operate beyond midnight and without the 50% capacity limit. The mask-wearing mandate in public places remains effective.

Malaysian citizens who were restricted from leaving the country for over a year can now resume international travel. Since March 2020, the nation closed its borders and maintained strict entry restrictions to prevent the outbreak of the disease. Most foreign nationals were prohibited from entry, except for essential cases, and returning Malaysian citizens had to undergo quarantine.
