Malwarebytes resolves Windows 7 freezing issue in latest update
A Challenging Issue to Resolve
Malwarebytes version 1.0.527 was released to address issues reported by Windows 7 users since mid-December last year. Reports emerged after users installed Malwarebytes 1.0.508 update.
Malwarebytes has yet to find an immediate fix as the issue cannot be reproduced on all machines. Additionally, the company also requests users to provide logs and data from Windows information reports to troubleshoot the problem.
On January 11th, Malwarebytes released a new update, however, it did not eliminate or resolve the issue as it includes enhancements for some licensing activities.
Release of Pre-beta Version
After conducting internal tests to replicate the freezing issue across multiple systems, developers observed and identified synchronization issues with multi-processor Web Protection code on Windows 7.
On Friday, the company announced the testing of Malwarebytes 3 build, designed to eliminate the snag. Due to promising test results, the company released the pre-beta version for all users.
