As you may already know, Outlook 2013 is one of Microsoft's products designed to assist users in accessing their Yahoo Mail, Gmail, and Hotmail email accounts. However, not everyone is familiar with its usage. Refer to this guide on how to effectively manage Yahoo Mail, Gmail, and Hotmail with Outlook 2013.
Managing Yahoo Mail, Gmail, and Hotmail with Outlook 2013
Step 1: Initial Setup
Previously, configuring a third-party email in Outlook required users to input all mail information including port numbers (Port), POP/IMAP servers. In Outlook 2013, however, you only need to provide basic information such as the account name, email address, and email password. The system will then connect and complete all remaining steps.
Note: To configure Gmail, you must log in to Gmail and enable POP or IMAP. The setup process is straightforward. Log in to Gmail, go to Settings, select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, check Enable POP for all mail under POP Download and Enable IMAP under IMAP Access, then Save Changes.
For Yahoo accounts, you must use the @yahoo.com.vn extension to perform operations after logging into Yahoo. As for Hotmail, you can leave it as default.
Step 2: System Configuration
In the Microsoft Office section, select Outlook 2013 to launch the program. A new window will appear, click Next on the Welcome to Outlook 2013 window, select Yes, and then Next to bring up the Add Account window. Enter your email address in the E-mail Address field, input your email password in both the Password and Retype password fields, and then enter your name in the Your Name field. Finally, click Next to proceed.
Next, Outlook 2013 will connect to your email service provider's server (Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail). The information you provide will be sent to the server for verification, and if correct, a green 'tick' mark will be displayed on the screen as confirmation.
Once all elements are complete, click Finish to conclude. You can then use Outlook as usual. Particularly, MSO2013 supports users in managing multiple email accounts simultaneously. If you want to configure additional accounts, you can go to File and select Add Account to add them as before.
