This is the day when Decree 14 was ratified by President Ho Chi Minh 75 years ago, marking the inception of various sports sectors in Vietnam. Furthermore, President Ho Chi Minh personally called for nationwide emphasis on physical exercise and sports, leading to the establishment of the Sports Sector. Since January 29th, 1991, March 27th has officially been designated as “Vietnam Sports Day.”

On January 30th, 1946, the Central Sports Committee under the Ministry of Youth was founded. Promoting sports for health improvement is highly encouraged for national development. Uncle Ho also envisioned that the people of Vietnam could contribute to making the nation a stronger powerhouse in the future.
To motivate people to exercise regularly and participate in physical activities, at the end of March 1946, Uncle Ho urged everyone to engage in sports for good health. Responding to Uncle Ho's meaningful call, within just two months, the entire population sparked the 'Fit for the Nation' movement. This marked the beginning of the development of the country's sports sector as we see it today.

Despite being at the bottom of Group B in the Asian zone qualifiers, our national team left a mark by defeating China and drawing with a regular World Cup attendee like Japan.The women's football team achieved a remarkable feat by participating in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The women's team has never disappointed, displaying courage and determination to proudly represent Vietnam on the international stage.
