Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg explains 'non-scrolling Facebook': Too occupied! With a household full of tasks, not a spare moment to open Facebook like others.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently featured as a guest on Joe Rogan's latest podcast episode. In this interview, Mark Zuckerberg candidly responds to Joe Rogan's questions - the owner of the Joe Rogan Experience, the world's most popular podcast, acquired by Spotify in a $100 million deal.
Privacy-related inquiries don't make the Meta boss uncomfortable.
Every morning, Mark Zuckerberg wakes up to 'millions' of messages sent. Most carry negative content, not just invasive personal matters, offensive language, and criticism of Facebook but even hostility. He reads them all but often doesn't respond, instead turning off his phone and 'doing something for an hour or two and resetting himself.'

Previously, he used to opt for running, but Mark realized he often 'overthinks' while running, so later he chooses tasks that require intense focus.
When Joe Rogan asked about limiting social media usage or controlling his children's access, Mark stated that 3.5 billion people use Meta's platforms. Despite his crucial role in one of the world's most popular social media platforms, he ironically 'doesn't have time to scroll Facebook.'
Explaining, Mark mentioned he always has 'things to do' and needs to 'maintain control' of his time to avoid strong reactions 'to things people throw at him.'
'You could spend all your time reacting to that. But what makes long-term success is actively taking time for self-care, engaging in physical activities, going for walks, and spending time with family,' said Mark Zuckerberg.
For his two children, aged just 6 and 5, Mark shows no concern about them using social media. In fact, he teaches them programming and the use of technology in various aspects.
According to Meta's CEO, exposure to modern technology is beneficial for children if parents control content and guidance. Technology facilitates connections, opens up opportunities, and sparks creative inspiration for children in certain aspects.
For adults, modern technology and social media can enable remote work, 'live anywhere they want and show up anywhere,' yet still connect and get the job done. However, he also admits personally preferring meeting people, and face-to-face interaction brings a different sense and effectiveness.
Mark reveals the company has invested 10 billion USD in various research endeavors this year, including studies on virtual reality technology and 'waveguide' tech made from plastic or glass. He humorously predicts that in the next 5 years, he'll conduct another interview with Joe Rogan entirely in 3D.
Recently, Meta unveiled plans to launch Meta accounts and Meta Horizon profiles with several new features, somewhat addressing user concerns about privacy. The rollout will happen gradually and may be completed by October.
