(Thethaovanhoa.vn) - In League of Legends, the Marksman group is facing numerous challenges.
In League of Legends (LoL), Riot Games has designed various champion groups to bring diversity to the game. In the early stages, the Marksman group received a lot of favor from the developer. However, over time, this position has received less attention for various reasons. In Season 12, many Marksman players are feeling dissatisfied with the changes coming from Riot Games.
The Marksman champion group has a relatively narrow champion pool
In LoL, the number of Marksman champions is much smaller compared to other champion groups. It's not difficult to encounter cases where a champion is used excessively. Marksman players often revolve around a few specific champions, leading to boredom when approaching the game.

Lack of Mythic items ownership
The Marksman class owns only 3 Mythic items: Galeforce, Kraken Slayer, and Phantom Dancer. Except for special champions like Ezreal, Draven, traditional Marksmen stick to these 3 items in all game modes. Hence, players aren't truly enjoying playing Marksman in Season 13. Currently, the global LoL community is actively pushing Riot Games to design additional Mythic items for the Marksman position.

Gameplay getting increasingly challenging
If considering the most challenging position to access in League of Legends at the Preseason 2023, most players will point to the Marksman position. This class typically unleashes its maximum power in the late game, requiring players to have many completed items. Consequently, Marksmen heavily rely on the Support player in the laning phase. Without good cooperation, Marksmen will face numerous difficulties advancing to the next phase of the match.
In the mid-game phase, champion classes that maximize their strength include: Physical Fighters, Tanks, and mostly Mages. At the moment, these champion classes have too many mobility skills or crowd control effects. As a result, Marksmen find it difficult to operate in team fights and can even be quickly eliminated. Without the support of teammates, Marksmen players are easily isolated from team fights.

Over time, as players' skills continue to improve, the Marksman position is constantly adjusted through updates. Riot Games is forced to reduce the strength of Marksmen compared to other champion classes to ensure balance in professional tournaments. Unfortunately, this factor unintentionally makes the Marksman class less effective in ranked mode.
Reduced impact range
In the Preseason 2023, the Marksman position faces the most disadvantages. The meta game favors Physical Fighters, Tanks, and Resilient Mages, making it challenging for Marksmen to operate effectively. In the early game, they rely on the Support player. In the mid-game, Marksmen continue to depend on the entire team to counter the opponent's Physical Fighters and Resilient Tanks.

The peak performance of the Marksman class occurs in the late game when players complete 4-5 complete items. However, players need around 30 minutes to unleash the full power of the champion. This timeframe is too large and not suitable for the constant combat environment in ranked mode. Therefore, the impact range of Marksmen is significantly inferior compared to other champion classes on the Summoner's Rift.
According to statistics, the number of Marksman players transitioning to other positions is increasing over time. Therefore, Riot Games needs to consider adjustments to make this role more attractive to players in the future.
